It’s Not What You Are

In ‘Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant’, this line is uttered – ‘It’s not what you are that makes you human, but who you are.’ Sounds vague. Here’s a proposed improved version – ‘It’s not what you are that makes you human, but how you are (via your thought, word and deed).‘

Humanity is the true essence of being human, which can even be found in non-human sentient beings, while humans who are lacking it are losing their human nature… both in this life and possibly in their next… about to miss a precious human rebirth… if they do not rekindle their humanity in time.
