India Adventure (26): We Refugees All

Before we returned home, we spent a night at the district called the Tibetan Refugee Colony in Delhi. We had to do so as the connecting flight was on the next morning. In a sense, we sought refuge there. It was as if we were refugees of sorts too. The place was like a more crowded version of Dharamshala, albeit not on the mountains. We are all spiritual refugees of the Triple Gem, be we staying there or just passing through.

We first checked into a hotel… that had a stale odour in the rooms. We looked around and switched to a nearby hotel, that not only was many times better in quality, it had air-conditioning too. It was quite amazing, that relatively ‘heaven’ and ‘hell’ were so close to each other in one place. It reminded me that despite collective karma experienced by all in a place, there is still karma of individuals at play, that differentiated some experiences. May all swiftly experience the bliss of Pure Land and end our status as refugees of the Triple Gem – by becoming the Triple Gem!
