Pretty…
is pretty…
subjective.
(but true inner beauty isn’t)
The first and second lines read together
suggest absolute objectivity,
till the third line says otherwise.
(Is this another haiku?)

Pretty is very subjective. The person may start to dress up and put on make up to his or her idea of what is pretty to them.
When people start to comment that the dressing or the make up is ugly, the feeling immediately turn sour. Therefore I feel that everyone in this world is dressing up for each other but not for themselves. Prettiness is determined by someone else but not by yourself.
The most important thing is to dress up/make up with wisdom. Look appropriate just to give people a good impression. Being very particular about one’s look can be a big hindrance to practice.
Ya! And being not particular enough can be a hindrance too, due to worldly perceptions and expectations!
