A few weeks back, I rushed on a Saturday to buy some stuff at an IT show.
I was quite exhausted and wondered if this would affect my teaching of a class in the evening.
But it turned out to be one of the smoothest lessons delivered.
It was a good lesson, a reminder on how our preconceived ideas
(e.g. that a busy day equates to a less well-delivered lesson)
that seem reasonable are sometimes simply not true.
Last week, I rested well at home all day, so as to deliver a better lesson later.
But I ate some oily instant noodles for lunch.
The lesson delivered that day turned out to be a little jerky due to their effect on my throat.
It was a good lesson, a reminder on how our preconceived ideas
(e.g. that a well-rested day equates to a better well-delivered lesson)
that seem reasonable are sometimes simply not true.
Things are never as good as they sound,
nor as bad as we think.

An open mind can receive anything that comes it’s way. When you expect something. You simply can’t help suspecting.
