It is easy to stand up to our enemies at times, when they are obviously against us. Ironically, it is harder to stand up to our friends at times, when we do not wish to jeopardise our friendship, as they might imagine we are against them. Yet we probably still should share the difficult but important truths with them, as we really care. (Another challenge is to really care for our ‘enemies’, to befriend them too, as not doing so jeopardises our potential friendship with everyone.)
