Stonepeace (251-260)

[251] Another’s good fortune ‘hurts’ you
only when you are unable to rejoice,
and are jealous instead.

[252] There is wisdom of the masses.
There is foolishness of the masses.
There is wisdom of the individual.
There is foolishness of the individual.

It is up to individuals and masses
to see which individuals and masses
make more sense than others.

[253] Claiming veganism is not of the Middle Way,
as if eating some meat regularly is the ‘Middle Way’,
is as if to say animals should be killed halfway
to feed meat-eaters’ ‘moderate’ demands.

[254] We remain shallow and untrue
when we refuse to look deeper
into ourselves and others.

[255] Those who obstruct others’ Dharma teaching karmically
obstruct their own Dharma learning
due to disrespect of the Dharma.

[256] Nudity is just the way
we really are physically.
Any mental big deal over it is
much ado over nothing much.

[257] World peace is a daydream as long
as the world demands mass-murder
of sentient beings in broad daylight.

[258] Some carnists are as surprised that
some can be lifelong vegans,
as some vegans are surprised that
some can be lifelong carnists.

[259] Those who really believe
plants are sentient beings
should consume less
or any animal sentient beings,
as they consume much plants.

[260] Our love for others
is only as impartial
as it is conditional.
