Some Dharma Advice #4
[31]
Help
When help is not needed,
do not get help at all.
When help is needed,
do get help immediately.
[32]
Simplification
If a complicated problem
needs to be solved,
it needs to be simplified first,
into simpler sub-problems to solve.
[33]
Blessings
To prevent others from wasting blessings,
and to teach them to treasure them,
give only what is fair and due,
and give not what is not fair and due.
[34]
Reciprocation
In true giving,
there is no true wanting
of anything to be given back.
[35]
Witness
To the stubborn who refuse to understand the explained,
explain in the presence of others who understand.
[36]
Easiness
It is only difficult
if you keep looking
for an easy way out,
when it might not exist.
[37]
Focus
Focus on walking the path,
and reaching the goal
will come in good time.
Focus on reaching the goal,
and tripping on the path
can occur at any time.
[38]
Compassion
Compassion for oneself
motivates practice for liberating oneself.
Compassion for others
motivates practice for ‘liberating’ others.
[39]
Help
There is helping once
which helps once.
There is helping well
which helps forever.
[40]
Preparation
To truly prepare for life is
to truly prepare for death too.
