Sometimes, the key message of a film is right at the end (or maybe I missed subtler messages along the way). Such is the case, so it seems, for ‘The Marc Pease Experience’, where Marc sings Joe Jackson’s ‘You Can’t Get What You Want’. Then everything falls into place, and the way you hear the song changes forever.
‘Cause I’ll tell you one thing
You can’t get what you want
Till you know what you want
Said you can’t get what you want
Till you know what you wantSometimes you keep busy reaching out for something
You don’t care, there’s always something there
Sometimes you can’t see that all you need is one thing
If it’s right, you could sleep at night
But it can take some time
But at least I’m here in line
So what do you want,
what is that one thing?
Enlightenment, even if it takes some time,
but at least we’re here in line.
