and three meals a day,
the heavy meat-eater had 1,095 occasions
to choose to eat kinder for many animals,
and wiser for his health,

but on all these occasions,
he ignored the animals’ welfare
and rationalised that eating them will not kill him,
though he was giving meat 1,095 chances to do so eventually.

The next year,
he will have 1,095 more occasions to choose,
if he is still alive.
