[1] Ten Analects’ Sections
[The following are in no particular order.]

人不知,
而不愠,
不亦君子乎?
《论语•学而第一•第一章》
With people not knowing one,
yet not resentful,
is one not also a noble person?
(Analects: 1st Chapter: Xué Ér: 1st Section)
[The truly virtuous are at peace and remain truly virtuous, even if recognised by no one.]

子曰:
「为政以德,
譬如北辰,
居其所而众星共之。」
《论语•为政第二•第一章》
The Master said,
‘For ruling with virtue,
for example, be like the northern star (Polaris),
dwelling in its place, yet with all stars circling it.’

子不语:怪、力、乱、神。
《论语•述而第七•第二十一章》
The Master does not speak on the strange, violent, rebellious and supernatural.
(Analects: 7th Chapter: Shù Ér: 21st Section)

未能事人,
焉能事鬼?…
未知生,
焉知死?
《论语•先进第十一•第十二章》
Yet to be able to serve humans,
how can it be possible to serve ghosts? …
Yet to know about life,
how can it be possible to know about death?
(Analects: 11th Chapter: Xiān Jìn: 12th Section)

敬鬼神而远之,
可谓知矣。
《论语•雍也第六•第二十二章》
Respecting ghosts and gods, yet distant from them,
can be said to be wisdom.
(Analects: 6th Chapter: Yōngyě: 22nd Section)

南容三复《白圭》,
孔子以其兄之子妻之。
《论语•先进第十一•第六章》
When Nánróng thrice repeated the ‘White Jade’ poem,
Confucius with the child of his brother, married her to him.
(Analects: 11th Chapter: Xiān Jìn: 6th Section)
白圭之玷,
尚可磨也;
斯言之玷,
不可为也!
《诗经•大雅•抑》
The blemishes of white jade,
still can be polished away,
but for the blemishes of that said,
this cannot be done!

朽木不可雕
《论语•公冶长第五•第十章》
Rotten wood cannot be carved
(Analects: 5th Chapter: Gōngyězhǎng: 10th Section)

子曰:
「人无远虑,
必有近忧。」
《论语•卫灵公第十五•第十二章》
The Master said,
‘People without far considerations,
will have near worries.’
(Analects: 15th Chapter: Wèilínggōng: 12th Section)

「躬自厚
而薄责于人,
则远怨矣。」
《论语•卫灵公第十五•第十五章》
The Master said,
‘For oneself personally having thick reproaching,
and with thin reproaching of people,
one will then be far from resentment.’
(Analects: 15th Chapter: Wèilínggōng: 15th Section)

「君子病无能焉,
不病人之不己知也。」
《论语•卫灵公第十五•第十九章》
The Master said,
‘Noble persons are worried about their incapability,
not worried about people not knowing them.’
