  1. If I am a Buddhist wanting to go Pureland … I think I would think it in this way, everyone can have their own …

Pureland is my home, a place where I belongs to

Samsara – is a day trip that I come to play or visit

Dying is a journey – Home Sweet Home

Bodhisattva– My lovely and loving mother

    My little story …

I am just a little naughty kid, coming to samsara to have some fun during the day time. When the sun set, my loving mother (Bodhisattva) will come to pick me, just like any mother picking their little kid from childcare. I am waiting happily for my mother (Bodhisattvas) who had promised to bring me back from childcare, just like any little kid. My mother will never be late as she can fly and always keep her promise; I have no worry and just wait there patiently. I know she won’t make her little darling wait that long, she loves me.

Maybe, I will show her what I had done during the day, maybe a beautiful sand castle that I build and share with others and we had fun.

With her soft hand, holding my little hand, she brings me home and I don’t need to know the way. With her beside me, I feel secure. I have no worries and I will reach home safe and sound, back to my beautiful warm home where my brothers and sisters are. We all live there together happily …

    What I feel –
Due to my command of languagessss…. I am not able to make this story any interesting, sorry :p

I would not equate Pureland as other place or a new beautiful country which I never been there before. I will worry or feel frighten. I think by associate it as home, that is the place for me very naturally i go home lor (you don’t go home, go where? Pub?)

No matter where I am I still want to go home (just like we go back to our home everyday and even we are oversea we long to go back to our country – our home) … unless the current home is a horrible place where we don’t want to go back …

  2. A good way of interpreting Pureland and Samsara and all that is important to you, crystalbymail.

Indeed, if Pureland is our home, we will not feel frightened or worried about adapting to a new environment.

The home is where your heart is.

  3. That little story might not be applicable to other, if the ‘home’ concept is not what they like … If they are the adventure type of person, imagining the Pureland as an unknown place or on a quest will be much more challenging and motivating …

In fact, everyone just have to think what suit them.

The important thing is to “pre-programmed” our subconscious amazing mind. Our subconscious mind makes all the amazing things happen automatically … So, this part, is not much of a big problem if we understand how mind work …

The challenge is what makes Pureland the place you want to go …so there is a lot of thinkings and questioning ourselves involved … And lots of understanding of the general’s honest feeling is required … Just my guess …

  4. I am thinking, if the ‘going home’ little story can be make into a much nicer and meaningful little tale that can like one of bedtime story for young kid …

If I am a Buddhist Pregnant Mother practicing Pureland, I might want to keep reading this little story for the Baby inside … to etch into the subconscious forever even it is accessible in subsequence lives. Pre-programmed it, so it will be so natural just like we don’t have to tell our body to growing hair, to continue breathing during sleep …

  5. I wished I heard the ‘story’ of Pureland as a child. I can imagine me growing up happily into it 🙂

  6. Currently, when young kid attend grandpa & grandma funeral, adult always tell them that their grandpa grandma goes to Heaven and lives happily there …

Ha…ha…, Let the kids’ brain run wild, give them this title, let them have the opportunities to create a beautiful story of Pureland on their own and adult can correct any mistakes if any … (touch wood, should anything happened young, they will be guided by the story … )

Even when they grow up, they still remember it, just like we remember those fairy tales, how old generation create the story of how we are born (from the rock, the Stork brought us here…)

And this is not just for kid, adult can have some fun too … Maybe, Like this …

Born as human life and practicing Pureland is an indication, that I have pass the requisites to Pureland (selected, place offered). In Samsara, this is Pureland – ground Zero (training ground), I just have to work hard to confirm the offer and to which level I should be posted. It is kind of like continuation from Pr School (Samsara) to Sec School (Pureland).

Would that increase the confidence level reaching there, give meaning to it …. If thinking in that direction, what is the mission here (the training ground)? To end sufferings and spread happiness … for me and all others … ? …? Then …. What’s next?

    For Guy …
The story started that we were from the Universe send down here, a Sci Fi version ….

Oops … I gone crazy again!

  7. Being a Pureland practitioner doesn’t mean one will definitely go Pureland, though chances are it is eventual, in a future life, if not this one, depending on how well one practises. Yes, this determines how high a grade we are born in when we reach Pureland. The mission now is to do one’s best to reach there and help others do the same, while trying to make this word a Pureland too. Amituofo 😉

  8. Affirmation – thoughts & words use in daily lives create the effects. If we believe something in life is a disaster, it will unfold as a continuing disaster, vice versa …

“Our life is the creation of our mind”, “The thinking”, “The Mind” – these important words that keep repeating in Buddhism.
