Virtual Dharma Friends

I got a nice Facebook message recently…

Dear Sir,

… I live in Phoenix Arizona, in the United States… I am a subscriber to NamoAmituofo (TheDailyEnlightenment-Weekly) email list for years and I always looked forward to reading your posts. It is not easy to be prolific yet you always manage to say something interesting and practical, at least most of the time, and I want to thank you for that. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom with the rest of us, and if I ever visit Singapore I would want to visit you for sure and say hello. Wishing you well and happiness always.

Thank you again,
C.A.

I don’t expect praise for writing but do it to share the Dharma, though such feedback do help to keep me going further. It’s actually kinda isolated writing regularly for so many TDE (and less Moonpointer) readers, while being unsure of how well the writing’s received. Then again, many of my new Facebook friends were strangers, whom I nevertheless gladly add upon link request, without question. The only way I reckon they know me is via reading TDE, Moonpointer (or having attended my talks). But that’s good enough. A virtual but spiritual friendship. Every new friend added is like a vote of approval that perks me up, while messages such as the above are nice bonuses. Thank you :-] Amituofo.

  1. I had added you in fb. I didn’t know you were in fb back then, but just tried my luck. And somehow it seemed that it was truly you. Initially I had thought your profile pic might be something to do with Buddhism, but it doesn’t seem so. Just an observation. =)

I can relate to the ‘isolated’ feeling; being unsure of how well one’s writing is being received.

Keep on writing words that inspire inner wisdom in people.

    All the best, shian. 🙂

  2. My fb acct is less Buddhist as i have non-Buddhist friends :silly:

    Thanks for the encouragement.
    Amituofo
