here are some of their exotic names in their cosmic pantheon –
Meet Citrine, Jade – gods of abundance
Meet Opal, Green Tourmaline, Citrine, Back Tourmaline – gods of bad luck
Meet Blue Agate, Kunzite, Drusy Chrysolla, Gem Silica, Moonstone – gods of acceptance
Meet Apatite, Jasper, Nephrite, Rose Quartz – gods of aggression
Meet Chrysoprase, Dioptase, Emerald, Malachite, Thulite, Rose Quartz – gods of beauty
Meet Imperial Topaz, Topaz – gods of aneroxia
Meet Dioptase, Selenite, Citrine – gods of ambition
Meet Apophyllite, Aalachite, Rose Quartz – gods of asthma
In the old stone age,
we believed in the seemingly ever-active formless gods,
of rain, thunder, wind, mountains and rivers…
who can neither be seen or touched in the flesh.
In this brave new stone age,
you can readily have and hold on to the seemingly lifeless “new gods”,
crystallised in their various shapes and sizes
in the palms of your hands.
Embrace sacred power –
you don’t have to wait for it to embrace you.
Reach out – touch faith.
You can be “devoted” to the new gods,
but you might also be obsessed?
How do you know if it’s your delusion
that they have the powers as revealed by man?
Who are the new prophets?
Enlightened or mere messengers?
Messengers of truths or half-truths or total lies?
How do you know it’s not their delusion?
I do not ask you to believe or disbelieve.
I am not placing a final judgement –
we have to discover the ultimate TRUTH of everything by ourselves,
much less to say the truth of this one aspect of everything.
Everything natural and unnatural,
crystals or not, has its power,
each thing has different powers,
as according to its natural powers,
and the powers we attribute to it unnaturally –
by our personal delusions and attachments.
As long as we are unenlightened,
we are empowered by these two powers – power-played, enslaved.
There will always be miraculous cures,
in the form of crystals or not…
universal panaceas for various ills,
as long as you believe.
But whether that belief is true or not is another matter?
But as long as I believe it works,
and as long as it seems to –
what the heck?
Really?
Can you be happy without your favourite personal power crystal?
Can you be happy without an external source of power?
Can you be happy by yourself?
Are you a master of your favourite crystal,
or are you its slave, driven by it?
Where is our ultimate refuge in this new age?
Where is the true source of happiness?
God and the old gods?
Or crystals with godlike powers?
Or a good friend or teacher?
Or yourself?
Or what else?
Is it wiser to learn and believe in the properties and powers of stones
or wiser to learn and master the power of your mind,
getting a grip on understanding yourself?
Amongst the crystals and gems and all else…
beckons refuge in the timeless Triple Gem…
not always easily seen, yet can be seen,
not always easily experienced, yet can be experienced –
the bright and shiny multi-faceted threefold jewel of
the Buddha, the Dharma & the Sangha…
not a real solid gem but more precious.
Not an illusion –
a transcendental indestructible diamond that cuts through all delusions,
a crystal clear path to crystal clear Wisdom and Compassion and True Happiness.
The Gem of all precious gems seen and unseen –
the king of all Gems!
