Above is a crest symbol for the movie screening cum Dharma discussion sessions I run. And as the branding of the movie reviews I write too. What is Dharma@Cinema? It is an innovative way of sharing the Dharma through detailed reviews and discussions of both popular and offbeat films. Deceptively simple, the logo has many layers of meaning, as below.
Meaning of Logo: A countdown leader with eight spokes, this represents the Noble Eightfold Path featured in/directly on film. As the eighth art that imitates life, the golden Dharma for enlightenment can also be found through entertainment on the silver screen. The radiating of light clockwise represents the turning of the wheel of the Dharma, as it sheds light on the drama of Samsara. (An example of a traditional countdown leader with four spokes is below.)
