We only want to see what we want to see. We only want to hear what we want to hear. If we embarked on a spiritual path in this manner, we will only end up deluding ourselves because we dun want to read the fine print or we only want to read what coincides with what we want to believe. If so, how much of the truth are we really learning since it is a flawed picture which is incomplete? If so, will we really end up where we think we are going or simply its all me myself making myself believe what i want to believe in on where I am going. The Buddha was extremely clear in his teachings when it comes to liberation because he has never withheld anything. Therefore, let not wise advice fall on deaf ears. The greatest obstacle to Nirvana is not the highest mountain. We are in our own way which is the real obstacle.
If a man embarked on a path of liberation, we must remember not to settle for anything else because once we got distracted and swayed we are not getting what we initially started out for. Following the Dharma closely is important. Like a rocket blasting off from earth, no gravitational force shall hold us back because to be completely free, you must free yourself completely.
Good rocket analogy. Rocket away from dogma and delusions!
