From ‘Batman: Lovers and Madmen’ by Michael Green…
Gordon: Damnest thing. Like there’s motive.
Batman: There’s always a motive.
What makes the Joker particularly dangerous is his unpredictability.
Even though Batman is very unpredictable too, Batman is more predictable
as he has a code of ethics to abide to, while the Joker is madness itself.
Yet, no matter how evil evil gets,
it is always with the motive of wanting True Happiness,
albeit in a twisted misguided manner.
Struck me that the Joker and Batman are direct opposites.
One is ‘so serious’, always frowning, while the other grins and asks, ‘Why so serious?’
One is reasonable, while the other seemingly beyond reasoning.
