Why Let Faults Win?

Heard of a Dharma student thinking of giving up attending one of his teachers’ classes due to embarrassment over some miscommunication on his own side. He even thought of forgetting whatever worthy Dharma learnt from her. This is what happens, unfortunately, when even the pure Dharma learnt becomes defiled and lost when mixed with one’s shortcomings. The Dharma is precisely for application, to eradicate such faults. Why let the faults win?

It is foolish to let go of learning the Dharma due to pride
when it is the pride that should be let go of,
so as to better learn the Dharma.
