I Don’t Eat Animals (Or Their Parts)

What I say instead – ‘I don’t eat animals.’ Period. What others should hear, if they do eat animals, is not anyone claiming to be better than them.

What they should hear is the call of their conscience, to wonder why they still eat animals, who do not have to die to meet their demands, to become ‘their’ meat.

There is no need to be rude or defensive at all, lest the voice of conscience gets drowned out by the noise.

  1. I don’t think most of the people I say “I’m a vegetarian” is offended and thinks like above. It may create an unhealthy effect for vegetarians if they think the rest of the non-vegetarian world thinks like this and close themselves off from them.

    1. What ‘THEY” hear – refers to what some hardcore meat-eaters might hear. Some expect veg*ns to be rude and defensive. But we need not do that at all. This post needs a second or even third reading to get it :-]
