Cabbie: I think it’s hard to connect some people to the Dharma. There’s the need to 随缘 (follow the conditions).
Shi’an: We can try to 制造因缘 (create causes and conditions) too.

so as to be able to reach his Pureland,
so as to train well as Bodhisattvas,

Well said. I never thought of it in the way you have phrased it particularly “creating a solid karmic link” with Amitabha Buddha. We need to work on this all the time.
