Fairy tales are child-oriented ways to paint both hopes and fears. Of happy princesses and horrible monsters. Instead of readying kids for reality, they tend to go too far into fantasy or fall short – missing the adequate horror of personal ageing, sickness and death, substituting it with mortally transient happily-ever-afters.
