He kept bugging her
with the worried question of
‘What will we do then?’ (当时我们怎么办?)

She kept assuring him
with the direct answer of
‘We will see how then!’ (当时我们看着办！)

Hers was always the right answer,
though he kept thinking
it was a half-answer or non-answer.

After all, things do keep changing,
as would the situation in future,
while what to be done will depend on things then.
